Tournament types and features

There are different types of tournaments in the poker client. All tournaments have a logo in the form of one or more marks that define the type of game. You can hover over the "i" sign above the column form to check the details of each spot. These marks can refer to regular tournaments and cash games and Sit'n'Go (SNG).

You can register for any offered tournaments in the Tournaments menu of the poker client.

6+ - 6+ Holdem

Six Plus Hold 'em is a variant of Texas Hold 'em that uses a reduced deck. Instead of the standard 52-card deck, all cards with 2,3,4,5 (4 deuces, 4 treys, 4 fours and 4 fives) are removed from the deck, resulting in a 36-card deck, where the lowest card is 6 and the highest A. Six Plus Hold 'em follows the same game logic and betting structure as the classic Texas Hold 'em. The only exception comes in hand strength. A full description of the rules is published on this page .

2 - 2 Players

Tournaments for two players or HeadsUp are usually found in the Sit'n'Go (SNG) section or cash games.

6 - 6 Players

Tournaments with the distribution of players at each table of 6 people.

B - Beginners

Games for beginners. Only new players can participate in such games - the first 90 days from creating an account (entering the poker client).

Deep Stack

Tournaments with an increased starting chip stack for longer play. The starting stack size is written in terms of a particular tournament.

Short Stack

Tournaments with a reduced starting chip stack for faster play. The starting stack size is written in terms of a particular tournament.

Single Hand

Other names used by players are Carnage, Flip, Coin Flip, and Kamikaze. A straightforward principle distinguishes tournaments of this type - you will automatically bet All-in before you lose or win the tournament.

Password Protected

Password-protected tournaments, such tags will stand in front of private tournaments that require a password to register.

V - Variable Length

This type implies a different time allotted for each tournament level. For example, level 1 - 5 minutes, level 2 - 6 minutes, etc.

Speed

An analog of the Blaze, Zoom or Rush Poker games is fast poker, in which, when a hand is passed, the player is transferred to another table, where he immediately plays a new hand. This label applies only to cash games and does not apply to tournaments.

JP - Jackpot

Games in which jackpots are drawn. At the moment, only Twister jackpot tournaments (Age of Gods) are provided.

Re-Entry

After being eliminated, you can enter the type of tournament by paying the buy-in and receiving a standard stack of chips after being eliminated.

Multi-Entry

Tournaments in which you can register several times from one account. For example, a player will register in such a tournament twice; he will play at two different tables with the same nickname with varying stacks of chips. If he reaches the final table from both registrations, then his stacks will be combined into one. He will occupy one place. In such tournaments, one player with additional registrations in this tournament technically cannot be seated at the same table; the system will always sit him at different tables until the final table is reached or until he is knocked out of the game.

Shootout

Tournaments in which, when a player is eliminated, his place is not taken, and the players do not move to other tables until there is one player left at the table. At each table, the game goes on until all the players except one are knocked out. Then this player waits until one player remains at the other tables, and only after that a new table (or tables) will be formed from the winners from each table. Thus, the game will continue until it reaches the final table, where the winner is determined.

Knockout

Tournaments with Bounty prizes. These tournaments involve a 50/50 buy-in split. The first part goes to the total prize pool, and the second part is paid for each player eliminated from the tournament. However, in large tournaments, the bounty fund paid for each knocked-out player might be 1/3 of the buy-in. You can see more detailed information on which part of the buy-in goes to a particular fund in the tournament lobby.

Freezeout

These tournaments are held without the opportunity to receive additional chips during the tournament by paying the entry fee again (Rebuy). Thus, any player, having lost all their chips, is eliminated from the tournament. At the same time, as players are eliminated, the tournament tables are merged until there is one final table.

Booster

Tournaments of this type provide an opportunity to buy additional chips at a reduced cost. You can buy more during the registration process or during the late registration period, regardless of your current stack size. After the end of registration, the possibility of additional purchases disappears.

Sit & Go

The type of tournaments that do not have a specific start time start as soon as the number of registrations reaches the set maximum. In tournaments, Sit and Play can take part from two to several people.

Double or Nothing или Double Up

The tournament in which the prizes are the sum of two buy-ins, the player either doubles the investment or loses everything.

HT - Hyper Turbo

Determines the speed of the tournament. The levels in this tournament last only 3 minutes, with each level increasing the blinds and antes.

T - Turbo

Determines the speed of the tournament. The levels in this tournament last only 5 minutes, with each level increasing the blinds and antes.

Guaranteed

Tournaments with a guaranteed prize pool. The prize fund is divided as a percentage based on the conditions of a particular tournament specified in its menu.

Satellite

Tournaments with a small buy-in or free entry can qualify for tournaments with large cash prizes and higher buy-ins or receive a prize package for a particular Live event. Sometimes, you must pass a chain of qualifying tournaments to get to the main event.

Flight

The tournament is divided into several days of participation. A player enters Day 1 by paying a buy-in or using a ticket and can enter Day 2 only after completing Day 1. The starting stack of the second day is formed from the final stack of Day 1. If the player participated in several tournaments on Day 1, his best stack is transferred to Day 2.

Freeroll

Tournaments are run without a participation fee, but prizes may be cash. These tournaments are an excellent way for a beginner to learn poker rules and get start-up capital to play at the poker tables or in paid tournaments.

R&A, 1R1A, Rebuy, Addon

Tournaments with the ability to buy chips during the game. Rebuy is possible as soon as your chip stack reaches a certain minimum; the time allotted for Rebuy can last from the beginning of the tournament to its first break, as well as a longer time; the number of allowed Rebuys can be either one or an infinite number of them, all parameters depend on the conditions of a particular tournament. Addon provides the last opportunity to buy additional chips during the time specified by the tournament conditions. The chance to make an Addon comes after the end of the rebuy period. More detailed information is indicated in the menu of each tournament.

Big Ante

Ante is a mandatory bet that starts to be charged from all tournament participants (usually from level 7), in addition to the blinds. In this type of tournament, players need to pay Ante from the very first level; this feature is designed for more active players' actions from the very beginning of the tournament.

Ante Up

Tournaments in which the blinds do not increase, but instead, each level is increased by Ante.
